The 5 Types of Marketing – Part 3

Welcome back to our Email series, The 5 types of Marketing – short marketing tips and tricks to keep you on top of your marketing game!

3. Time-Bound Marketing

Welcome back to the Marketing Minute! We talked about Foundational Marketing, Executional marketing, and we are on to type 3! Time-bound marketing is, as it sounds, something that must be initiated and consumed within a particular window of time to be effective. Companies usually seek marketing help of this kind when they have a particular event or campaign to publicize and all communication must take place within a certain time-frame by a specific deadline. The results you will typically be seeking in a time-bound marketing effort are sign-ups, calls, registrations, donations, pledges, or RSVPs.

This kind of marketing requires that your foundational efforts are in place so you can create an efficient communication strategy during and post-event (live or online) campaigns. Make sure you have a well thought out calendar of how and when to deploy the various marketing communication pieces.

Another time-bound effort during your campaign involves sending out a press release or announcement to daily/weekly local print media and a media alert and/or public service announcement to broadcast outlets near the day of the event. This is typically done about two weeks in advance.

You’ll also want to make sure you do the following for your events, or scheduled into your marketing strategy:

  • List it in online and print event calendars
  • Secure sponsors
  • Release announcements in social media, newsletters, and all client communication channels
  • Do live social media events
  • Have giveaways and drawings at the event

Check out our Time-Bound Marketing client case study: Rieke Office Interiors

Amidst the 2020 COVID-19 outbreak, Rieke Office Interiors (ROI) put their team to work on a line of PPE products for the workplace. They executed the project and had prototypes in a matter of a couple of weeks. The team realized they needed help – they were experts in the creation of the products, but they needed an expert partner to launch this line of SafeSpace™ products.
