With Valentines’ Day around the corner, at JJR we have been reflecting on some of the ways to show your clients “Love” in the business world. Here are a few ways to show your clients love!
1. Send a welcome gift.
Starting a partnership off with a welcome gift always adds a little icing to the cake. Your new clients know you’re thinking about them, and you’re excited to work together. Sending a box of chocolates or flowers can be a great gesture.
2. Conference call? Send a treat!
We won’t claim this as our original idea, but once we saw it.. it made perfect sense! If you have a conference call scheduled, send a box of fresh treats over to their office right before the meeting. This shows you put a lot of effort and care into this interaction. Bringing your interaction to the next level.
3. Show them you’re thankful.
At JJR we try to send out 2 thank you cards per month, whether it’s to our clients, a vendor, or someone who welcomes us into the office building each day. A small hand-written note helps show your appreciation.
4. Take an interest.
Take the time to get to know your clients outside of the projects you’re working on. Take a morning to grab a coffee or breakfast, get to know what drives them, what are their hobbies and dreams. This may help you connect on deeper levels, which is important in any relationship, especially in business.
The best ways to show your clients love are not over the top, drawn out, or forced. These are things you want to do to improve your relationship for the benefit of everyone involved. With such a vast and growing market place, we are always faced with the next cutting-edge technology, service, or program. There is nothing that compares to the customer relationship to your company. Allowing your clients to trust you and truly know you’re on the same team is necessary.
Establishing the connection may be the first step, but keeping it going is equally as important moving forward. Some of your longest standing clients may be the ones you need to reach out and use one of our “showing love” tactics for. As any relationship, business relationships take hard work and effort from both parties to make it work. There is no end or amount of “love” we should show our connections.
