Smoothie King hosts over 275 people for Re-Grand Opening

The Challenge

Local Basketball legends, Jarryd and Jewell Lloyd purchased a local smoothie king restaurant in the neighborhood they grew up in. The smoothie king was an existing business and didn’t have a great reputation in the area. They wanted people to know that they were the new owners, and that they are looking forward to working with the community on offering jobs for those with disabilities, and offering kosher products with a large Jewish community around the store.

Solutions

We created a marketing program to give us several touchpoints with the community to maximize our Life Time Value (LTV) for Smoothie King. Our main messaging was focused around a grand opening event which included samples, giveaways, meeting the team and an official ribbon cutting ceremony with the city. We wanted to create an opportunity for people to become life-time patrons of Smoothie King Skokie.

Public Relations

  • Created a custom media list focusing on local media, trade media, and media related to Jewell and Jarryd’s careers
  • Created an official press release to share the story of Jarryd and Jewell to make sure the community knew this was more than “just another franchise.”
